Region VI Distinguished Service Key Purpose:This award is presented to a brother in Region VI of Alpha Phi Omega who has given outstanding service on a regional level. It is not necessarily awarded each year.
Criteria: - Commitment.
- Reliability and availability.
- Quality and quantity of service.
- Enthusiasm.
- Diversity of involvement.
- Unselfish giving of resources.
- Outstanding differences made in the region.
- Past and present efforts and accomplishments for a consistent period of one school year or more.
- Fulfills the three cardinal principles of Alpha Phi Omega.
Nominations:Nominations may be made by any person affiliated with Region VI (Active Brothers, Alumni, Sectional and Regional volunteers). Each nomination is limited to one typewritten page.
Voting:Nominations will be considered by the Region VI DSK Committee, consisting of the Region VI Awards Chair, the Regional Director, the Section Chairs, one active and one additional member from each section. The Region VI DSK Committee will then make its recommendation on each nomination to the full awards committee. A 3/4 majority vote of the DSK Committee is required to pass the nomination on to the full committee with a recommendation to award the DSK.
The awards committee meets at each regional and national conference. Each chapter in Region VI in good standing with the National Office and Region VI of Alpha Phi Omega is entitled to one vote on the committee. Nominees receiving a 2/3 affirmative vote of all chapters voting will be awarded the Region VI Distinguished Service Key.

Bobby Hainline Interchapter Activities Award Purpose:This award is presented annually to a brother or chapter who has done an outstanding job in promoting activities and interaction among the Alpha Phi Omega chapters in Region VI.
Criteria: - The activities were readily promoted to the chapters in Region VI.
- The activities had participation by brothers of chapters in Region VI. This participation may be at one site (e.g. a region-wide service project held at one location) or at many sites (e.g. one chapter road-tripping to other chapters in the region during a vacation).
- The activities helped strengthen one or more of the three cardinal principles of Alpha Phi Omega: Leadership, Friendship, and Service.
Nominations:Nominations may be made by any person affiliated with Region VI (Active Brothers, Alumni, Sectional and Regional volunteers). Each nomination is limited to one typewritten page.
Voting:Each chapter in Region VI who is in good standing with the National Office and Region VI of Alpha Phi Omega is entitled to one vote. The nominee receiving the most number of votes will be declared the winner.

Berkeley P. Duncan Service Award Purpose:This award is presented annually to the chapter in Region VI of Alpha Phi Omega that has done the most to promote service on a regional level.
Criteria: - The service project(s) was (were) readily promoted to the chapters in Region VI.
- The service project(s) attracted participation by brothers of chapters in Region VI in addition to the host chapter.
- The service project(s) was (were) original and/or fun.
Nominations:Nominations may be made by any person affiliated with Region VI (Active Brothers, Alumni, Sectional and Regional volunteers). Each nomination is limited to one typewritten page.
Voting:Each chapter in Region VI who is in good standing with the National Office and Region VI of Alpha Phi Omega is entitled to one vote. The nominee receiving the most number of votes will be declared the winner.
